Suggest Treatment For Degenerative Disc Disease And Severe Arthritis
Hi doc. I am a 40 year old man who has recently been told that I have degenerative disc disease and severe arthritis of the spine. Nerve pain in my left arm led to a cervical MRI which revealed this. Just over 10 years ago lumbar stenosis led L34-L35 disc removal and spine fusion. I ve worked on my feet and been athletic my whole life, my appointment with a neurologist is next week and I have no idea what to expect. Worst case best case scnerio?
"degenerative disc disease and severe arthritis of the spine." is a very common MRI report. It is indicative of aging process. These changes are not reversible as seen in MRI images. These changes do not cause symptoms either. The process of producing these changes is painful and is fortunately reversible. The medicines including NSAIDS along wih neurotropics & other specific drugs, not only arrest the disease process, but also repairs the damage done & thus give relief from symptoms as well. Your dscription of disease is not sufficient to come to a firm diagnosis.don't worry,I think you will recover soon.
