Suggest Treatment For Diverticulitis

I need to know what it means when your intestines feel like they are strangling when either your turning to the side or maybe doing a crunch. I was showering when I was trying to reach my back to scrub and it felt like my intesting when folding, turning, or twisting I had to immediately turn back and start rubbing it down and around. Another occasion I was sitting down with my legs supported up then I started to reach forward and again they felt like they where going into a twist and a cramp feeling I had to stand up fast and started rubbing around my stomach. I feel a lump under my rib cage on my left side. Years ago over fifteen to be sure they told me I had diverticulitis. What I have notice lately is I just eat and have to go and have a bowel and the majority is nothing but bile. Its so irritating. YYYY@YYYY

Hi,
Welcome to health care magic,

As per all these symptoms and history, you might be suffering from acute diverticulitis.

Diverticuloum is a abnormal outward projection of mucosa of colon. When it is get infected,it is known as diverticulitis.

You must undergo routine blood counts,ESR,ultrasound of abdomen to diagnose the underlying cause exactly.

You can take antibiotics ( quinolones or cephalosporins) with antiprotozoals like metronidazole, antiemetics, antispasmodics, probiotics and other supportive treatment with dietary restrictions to low fat and high protein but the main cure is the only surgical removal of diverticulam because of repeated gut infection or they could be also chances of complications like peritonitis, bowel obstruction etc.

So,better you see gastrosurgeon and take advise.

Thanks and regards,.
