Suggest Treatment For Fever And Unusual Bowel Movements

Hi my 5 month old son has fever (38.4 degree Celsius) and has moved his bowels 6 times today. It s not watery but with little yellow lumps. I ve been giving him baby biscuits for 2 days now. He has not experienced this kind of bowel movements since birth.

Welcome to the HCM

I understand your concerns but don't worry. The most likely reason for such symptoms in infants is a viral gastroenteritis episode. I would recommend you to start him on racecadotril granules, zinc supplement such as Syp ZnD or Zinconia along with a probiotic such as enterogermina. Ensure regular feeds and ORS (if the frequency is high) to maintain hydration.
Exclusive breastfeeding is appreciated for the first 6 months of age. It helps in proper growth and development of the baby and protect them from such infections.
