Suggest Treatment For Hemotoma On Thigh After An Injury

My husband fell off his mountain bike and hit his upper thigh with the handle bars. The bruising is servere and has moved down his leg which i belive is normal but he has a large heamotoma on the top of his thigh near his groin should he get it checked he is icing it at the mo and has taken advil

Hello,

The short answer is that he is able to walk without a significant amount of pain, then he does not need to see the doctor.

He might have suffered a quadriceps contusion, which is treated strangely enough by wrapping the shin to the thigh to get about 120 degrees for the first 24 hours to lessen the hematoma.

Then ice and Advil, like you guys are doing. Likely the bruising will continue to develop, and he will be fine in a few weeks.
