sir, my son is 8 years old . as per doctor he is suffering from ITP. his platelet count is 80000. but he has braod reddish purple spot over his legs. is the dissease curable? is the streoid ( pedrosone 5 mg ) enough to increase the platelet count. Pl suggest

So platelet count is decreased and leads to bleeding and rashes. Main treatment is immunosuppressive drugs. Steroid is the drug of choice for ITP. It will suppress the immunity and prevent the destruction of platelets. So take steroid treatment according to your doctor's advice.
