Hello! Exactly one week ago I was travelling with public transportation and I shaved on that morning and cut my skin. A few days later my face was covered with impetigo, a doctor diagnostised this. I ve been using Neomagnol and ung. antisepticum on the infected area, but it is still running (some fluid comes out of the wounds . Now I notieced I have 3 more in the pubic area and one on my leg. What do you suggest to me?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
As per your case history of Impetigo, my treatment advice is:
1. Maintain good hygiene and bath twice daily. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like Fusiderm cream on it. 3. Take an NSAID like Ibuprofen for 5 to 7 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like Levofloxacin, Cefadroxil, and Azithromycin taken only after consulting a Dermatologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. Harshit Bhachech
