Suggest Treatment For Itching And Burning On The Scalp In Case Of Skin Cancer

Good Afternoon, I've been diagnosed as having Skin Cancer on Scalp with Multiple Tumours(not life threatening) thankfully. Had an op 1/12/10 to remove x2 tumours and I have more over scalp&under forehead. NHS specialists say due lack NHS funding in budget-can only remove x2 per time. I was hoping to have them all taken off in one go as hospital is quite far away & I'm due back at work 17th Feb. I've now been informed I may be re-referred to Dermatology again for itchy burning scalp 24/7-depriving me of sleep. I started off there&they referred me to Plastic Surgeons whom I'm under now. I'm due to see another private specialist tonight&fear result as of getting to work. Can you advise please. Was on Tramadol but had to stop as severe reaction. I'm allergic to Penicillin. I'm feeling like emotional rollercoaster at moment&it is having impact on my life-I think world of NHS&what they've done for me-but feel I need a way forward still. I had 2nd op for skin cancer on 21/3/11 and still got itchy burning throbbing scalp-already saw dermatologist last Sept and he took swab & referred me onto Skin Cancer Surgeon-now 2nd op done-surgeon says I need dermatologist again to see as his field. I go back to work 26/4-start new post&have intensive training-painkillers are stopping discomfort. Can you advise please.

Hi,

I would advise you to take levocetirizine group of drugs. Also, wash your scalp regularly with warm water and shampoo.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
