Suggest Treatment For Knee Periostitis

Doctor, I am from Qingdao City, China. My mother has got the sick of knee periostitis for 30 years, she it 60 years old this year. Recently, she feel mor pain than before. I am looking for the way of treatment. I don t want to see this kinds of condition any more. As you know, the medecine level of China is lower than America, so I want to get your help. Please help me, thank you.

Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that your mother may be having osteoarthritis knee.She need further investigation by x ray of both knee joints in standing position. Analgesics (DICLOFENAC) whenever pain is helpful in pain relief. Diacerinre and glucosmine sulfate protect cartilage from breakdown and help in cartilage regeneration.Quadriceps exercises is started after pain relief.Serum vitamin D test is advised. If it is low than vitamin D supplementation will be required.You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful.
