Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Rifaximin is an antibiotic medication for diarrhea with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS). It works by reducing or altering gut bacteria, and it can improve symptoms of bloating and diarrhea after a 10 to 14 day course of treatment. In addition, supplementation with probiotics would also help to keep the gut healthy. Along with it, anti-diarrhea medications like Loperamide may also help. Kindly consult your doctor before taking the medication for proper evaluation and management.
Hope the information provided helps.
Best wishes.
Regards,
Dr.Ashakiran.S.
