Suggest Treatment For Presence Of Mucus And Puss Cells In Baby's Stool

Hello Doctor,

I'm Vijay, from Bangalore, India. My Son Eashan Aditya, 7 months old. Last three days he is passing semi-solid & some loose stools. So we have consulted with Pediatrician, as per his suggestion we done stool rioutine examination for my baby. Today we got the result as in below details... but we are not sure the result is positive or negative, So please suggest us..



Physical examination

Colour - Greeninsh Yellow

Consistency - Liquid

Mucus - Present

Reducing Substances

Microscopic Examination

Pus cells - 8-10 / HPF

RBC - 2-3 / HPF

Bacteria - Present

Ova - Absent

Cyst - Absent

Thanks for the query.
From above report it looks like a case of acute gastroententeritis.
RBCs indicate infection in stomach.
Your doctor might suggest you to take cefixime or ofloxacin syrup for it.
Also i would like to suggest probiotics, zinc, ors.
