Well the hernia can not really cause such symptoms as it is located at the lower end of esophagus hence can not cause coughing on eating. Yes, the cause can be resolving walking pneumonia and bronchitis under treatment that your respiratory system gets very much sensitive to smell. I would advise you the following in such a situation: Continue the treatment for bronchitis with pneumonia. Avoid all the foods and beverages that cause you the present symptoms that you have mentioned. Take steam inhalations. Take a PPI too along with Domperidone for the possible reflux as you have hiatal hernia and severe coughing or any breathing trouble can cause bronchospasm, hernia, breathlessness and so on.
