Suspected Fibroid When Consulted Doctor About Mirena Change. Could It Be Diagnosed From A Pelvic Exam?

Was at my gp today to have a smear and have my mirena coil changed. When she removed old one she told me that she thinks I have a fibroid and that she did not want to put in another coil. I got very concerned it was something else she suspected but she told me it wasnt Anything to worry about but I am so worried. I am going for a ultrasound tomorrow to find out. Can go tell from a pelvic exam or could it be something more dangerous like cancer

Hi!
welcome to HCM!
yOUR GP must have carefully checked the uterus prior to Mirena insertion to determine the degree of patency of the endocervical canal and the internal os, and the direction and depth of the uterine cavity and she must have found a fibroid .
Dont worry fibroids are very common benign uterine tumours of smooth muscle.Get your USG done wait for the results,it will clarify things,be relaxed.take care!
