Swelling In Toes With Slight Tingle. Advised Monitoring Sugar Levels. On Medication For Hypothyroidism. Suggestions?

in the past few months, my toes have been swelling lately and sometimes I have a very slight tingle.
My A1c was 5.7 six months ago. My daily sugar readings range from 99-110 fasting. My doctor checks my glucose and thyroid every six months. She has not put me on any medication to control sugar but has intructed me to monitor my sugar levels 3-4 times a week.
I take thyroid medication for Hypothyrodism. my daily dose intake is 112 mcg.
I also do intense workout exercise six times a week.
I am trying to figure out what is causing this. any feedback is appreciated.
thanks.

Hello,
Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum.
Since your HB A 1 C is 5.7 , actually this is a normal range so need not to worry .
As you stated that your blood sugar level is somewhat normal every time. so good.
Hypothyroidism nothing to do with this toe disorder.
Your complaint is swelling with tingle in great toe.
May be due to ,
1 Gouty arthritis , so for this get in blood for uric acid level.
2 osteoarthritis ( however big joint involve first but exception may be ) , so get in blood for E S R .
3 deficiency of calcium or degeneration of bone may be responsible for this.
4 May be due to nerve involvement or blood supply blockage.
So consult an orthopaedician and get his opinion.
Good luck.
