Taken Diflucan. Discharge Increasing In Smell. Normal?
I took Diflucan a day ago, and I got releif off of it, and the irritation is still there but not as bad. I was wondering if the discharge increasing in smell is normal after taking that medicine? It smells a lot stronger now after the dose. Not sure if it is just from it clearing it out or if I need to take a second dose to make sure!
Hello, Thanks for the query to H.C.M. Forum. Dflucan ( fluconazole 150 mg) is anti fungal agent and it is most important medicine in its class. As you mentioned that smell is very offensive ( foul ) and stronger than previous one. Don't cleaning , rather in my opinion this discharge is due to other bacteria or candida . Get in vaginal swab and culture and drug sensitivity will find out the exact reason of causative organism . Consult a gynaecologist and get his opinion and treatment. Self medication ( diflucan ) is not good . Good luck. Dr. HET
