Taking Eutroxid For Under Active Thyroid. Have Heartburn. Why? Taking Multivitamins

Hi, Last week I began taking prescribed Eutroxig for an under active thyroid . I take it one hour before breakfast but I am now experiencing heartburn one hour after breakfast. I get relief after eating my lunch. Is the medication reacting with my cereal and milk breakfast? I also take a mulitvitamin with breakfast. Carolyn

Hi Carolyn,
Thanks for posting your query.
You may have associated acidity problems which are very common in hypothyroid patients. In hypothyroidism, patients my have decreased gut motility and acid in stomach may cause harm to gastric mucosa.
You should also consult with physician and gastro-physician and get your endoscopy.
Get well soon.
Thanks,
Dr. Mayank Bhargava
