Taking Methadone, Xanax And Buspar. Was Addicted To Oxycotin. On Depicote For Epilepsy. Any Drug Interactions To Worry About?

MY TWENTY YEAR OLD SON HAS BEEN TAKING PRESCRIBED METHADONE EVERY MORNING FOR A YEAR AND THE CLINIC IS LOWERING TO DOSE SLOWLY TO GET HIM OFF IT COMPLETELY. HE WAS ADDICTED TO OXYCOTIN, HENCE WHY HE WENT INTO METHADONE TREATMENT. HE RECENTLY WAS PRESCRIBED XANAX FOR ANXIETY AND BUSPAR FOR ANXIETY/DEPRESSION. MY SON ALSO TAKES DEPICOTE TO CONTOL HIS EPILEPSY. HE ALSO SMOKES POT ON A REGULAR BASIS. WHAT DRUG INTERACTIONS DO I NEED TO BE CONCERNED OF, IF ANY? I NEED HELP HELPING MY SON. hello there!
Thank you for asking. Your son is getting too much sedatives. Methadone, Buspirones, Alprazolams, And top of that cannabis. Unless you plan him to get comatose . stop anxiety depression medications and instead rely on psychotherapy sessions. Or tell him to be a man and stop pot.
Pot use increases the effect of Alprazolam and buspirone by increasing their stay in system. It needs very close monitoring.

Rest upto you. Pot usage with so much sedation is no way justfiable and the doctor should be sued for that much sedation and not reporting marijuana use.
