Taking Silofast 8 For Enlarged Prostate Gland But Still Experiencing Weakness And Unknowingly Wetting Gown

Dear Doctor I am 68 years old with a healthy body until 2011 when I went for a Bypass. Since 2008 I have diabetic. Basically I am engineer having kept myself busy throughout my career devoting more than 16 hours at work physically and mentally. During one of my periodical check up from a reputed diagnostic centre I was informed of the enlarged prostate gland with no any symptom of urinary problem. The Urologist suggested if I tend to experience any weakness to take Silofast 8. Which I quiet recently started using. Inspite of taking Silofast and getting up at equal intervals during the night to empty my blader but I still wet my night gown unknowingly. How can this be stopped. It is very embarrassing.

Urologist 's  Response
Hello
Thanks for your query.
You have Nocturnal Frequency of urination (Nocturia) and urgency incontinence in spite of taking Silodocin 8mg daily.
This strongly favours that you have significant Benign Enlargement of Prostate with large volume and significant post void residue

please consult qualified Urologist for detail evaluation and get following basic tests done to confirm the diagnosis.
1) Urine routine and culture
2) Ultrasound scanning of the bladder to determine size of the Prostate with specific mention for post void urine residue.
3) Serum P.S.A.

Since you do not have satisfactory results with Silodocin you may need to undergo endoscopic resection of prostate.(TURP)

This is a gold standard method for resecting enlarged prostate practised world wide whichgives encouraging results.
