Teenager. Tender, Slightly Hot, Painful And Swollen Back In Line With Hip Bone, Slightly Swollen And Hard Left Abdomen. Help
Hi. I am a 17 year old girl and i have been have this constant back pain even when lying down. Last night, i realised it was tender, slightly hot and swollen. Hence i iced yet, the pain has not gone away. This pain is not on the spine but rather in line with my hip bone on the left. Also, my left abdomen near my hip seems slightly swollen and hard. please help me.
Hi, The pain site that you are mentioning is most probably the left Sacroiliac joint. Sacroiliac joint diseases are many, the most common being Anlylosing spondylitis, which is more common in men, but females are not spared. It also involves the spine. MRI of the pelvis gives the earliest diagnosis. MRI would also show any inflammation or infection of the hip joint. Therefore it is highly advisable to do a pelvic MRI before embarking upon treatment. Meanwhile the pain can be controlled by Tablet Diclofenac+Misoprostol (50 mg Diclofenac) in the morning and evening after meals for 5 days. Regards
