Tight Feeling In Throat, Chest. Having Anxiety Disorder. Advice?
Hi, I regularly get a tight feeling in my throat and chest along with a gnawing feeling in my stomach. I've been diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and have always associated this feeling with that disorder however am now wondering if it's something else all together. This sensation doesn't appear to be related to any time of day or any particular food, it isn't painful but it is extremely upsetting as I always think I'm about to head into another anxiety attack.

These are the common symptoms of anxiety and are unlikely to be due to other causes. The fear of developing anxiety attack itself indicates that it is part of your anxiety disorder. In my opinion: 1. Start anti-anxiety medicines. Selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs) are used to treat anxiety. 2. Start self help Cognitive behavioral therapy for anxiety. 3. Take professional talk therapy for anxiety disorder. 4. Start deep breathing exercises. Particularly when you are having these symptoms, do the deep breathing exercises. It helps to relieve anxiety. Sit at a calm place. Take a deep breath through the nose and exhale through the mouth. Take deep and slow breaths NOT rapid and shallow breaths. Do the exercise for 10-15 mins.
