Treatment For Rheumatoid Arthritis

Hi Doctor, My mother is having Rheumatoid arthritis for a last three years. She took the following drugs as per general physican for last three years ( Shelcal os,medrol,hcqs,folvite, neotrexate,hifenac-p) . Recently she was feeling pain and swelling at the various joint so last month we consulted with a specialized doctor and he prescribed ( nucoxia 60 and frusemide 40mg) but her swelling and pain increased in such a level that she could not walk properly. If you kindly suggest what we should do and to whom I consult. Thanks .

Hi,Thanks for your query. After going through your query I came to know that your mother is suffering from Rheumatoid arthritis for a last three years . I think treatment of your first doctor was correct as far as RA is concerned.Probably you stopped the treatment started by previous doctor which lead to increase in symptom of disease as second doctor has no drug which is for RA specially.You can consult a rheumatologist for it. You can discuss with your treating Doctor about it. I do hope that you have found something helpful.
