Treatment For Tingling And Numbness Due To Herniated Disc?

I have a herniated disc in L5 and have had this for 11 years. But, now I suffer from every time I lay down or sit in a reclined position, my entire left side of my body is tingly and numb. I am not able to sleep and frequent chiropractor visits don't seem to help. The only way I sleep is with pain killers, that now don't even seem strong enough to help me sleep through the pain. What type of specialist would I need to go to since the doctors I have been to so far have not been able to solve my problem.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
hi
my advice would be if your motor power and sensation are normal in lower limbs, you can take gabapentin/pregabalin drugs to reducw you suffering, if not taken earlier.these drugs will help you.
if the pain persist with reduced motor power in limbs consider visit to orthopaedic /neurosurgeon.
take care and feel free to contact anytime, god bless you.
