Trying To Gain Weight After Unexplained Weight Loss

I am 75 yrs old. Last year for I lost 23-30 lbs as per my pr care dr. "no apparent reason" Ihave tried to put it back. for about 7 months and the most I can gain is 7-9 lbs.. I have always eaten alot of veg. fruits, very little red meat and chick maybe 2 x a week. Not a big sugat freak. I was a size 5 before and 5'6. I have had some sucess b

Loss of 10 % body weight over a period of six months is significant.
The cause for this weight loss has to be found out.
Inability to gain weight despite good diet also suggests some organic disease.
You need to consult a physician for a complete clinical examination, and relevant investigations.
At the age of 75 years, many diseases especially cancers are quite common.
A suspicion of cancer has to be kept for this unexplained weight loss.
Other diseases which cause weight loss are AIDS, tuberculosis, etc.
