Unable To Pass Stools After Inguinal Hernia Repair, Now Having Diarrhea Full Of Red Blood. Is It Normal ?
Had R side inguinal hernia repair 6 days ago. Couldn't pass any stools for 4 days and spent 2 whole days in agony wanting to poo but unable to do so, only mushy stuff over which I had no control scooped up on toilet paper. Finally 2 nights ago success; 3 black hard sausage shapes fell into toilet, followed by lots of crennelated folds of brown with black. Then diarrhoea-like soft stuff. Nothing but soft stools & diarrhoea all day with an accident first thing. Today I woke at 8, another accident before I got to toilet, but when I came off bowl surprised that diarrhoea was full of red blood, only slimy stuff on pants.

this is not normal
it can be either due to drugs taken before after and during surgery or can be post surgical complications better to consult the doctor who operated on you
