Urine Sensation But No Urine. Cystoscopy Done. Bladder Retention?
Hello, I'm a 38 year old woman and had a cystoscopy 3 weeks ago and am still suffering some uncomfortable symptoms. Straight after I empty my bladder, I feel the need to urinate again but only a drop will come out. I'm sitting on the toilet for up to an hour before I get up but the urge to urinate is still there and does not go away. Is this bladder retention and should I be drinking lots of water?
The symptoms that you have mentioned suggest that you are not able to empty your bladder completely. There is definitely some bladder problem. What were the findings of the previous cystoscopy done? If there were no findings, you need to go for urodynamic studies. Urodynamic studies will determine the cause of these symptoms. Bladder problems are caused by disorders of nervous system, bladder muscle and the distal urinary tract.
Consult a surgeon for these problems.
