Used Condom, Feel Itchy On Vagina Lip, Scratched, Pimple Developed, Started Bleeding. Any Problem?

Dear doctor, Im a 39year old lady and single but have 2 healthy children. My problem is that I only have one boyfriend of which we use condoms when having sex each time. Now my concern is I felt itchy yesterday on the lip of my vagina and scratched. By the end of the day, I had developed a pimple on the area, and when I sratched more, it was bleeding, but its not very painful. What might be the problem?

Hi,

Your symptoms indicate vaginal infection. You should do the vaginal swab testing and culture to identify the right causative agent and the right antibiotic or anti-fungal drug to use.

Meanwhile, I'd recommend to keep a good hygiene of your vagina (wash with warm water and chamomile tea), keep it dry with a smoothy cloth.

Usually, I prescribe topical clotrimazole + hydrocortisone cream together with metronidazole ovules to my patients for better results for about 12 days.

Remember once you have the lab tests in, you should start immediate therapy together with your partner.

Hope it helped!
