Using Gemfibrozil For Cholesterol, Sensitive Tender Muscles, Weakness, Overweight

I am on gemfibrozil for cholesterol and am experiencing some of the side affects and have for a long time, like sensitive tender muscles and weekness, I am 59, about 20 lbs overweight and have just started excersizing regularly as I have just retired. I've just read about CoQ10 and am thinking of going off of the statin and replacing it.
My cholesterol was the best ever last test at 210, I think attributed to taking really good OMEGA-3's and eating lots of salmon for the first time in my life

Hello,

It is well known that statins cause muscle tenderness and tiredness and weakness. You may be experiencing its side effect. Consult your doctor and discuss with him.

Secondly Coenzyme Q10 produced in the human body and decreases with age and other chronic disease conditions. But its beneficial effect as supplement as not been studied completely and established beyond doubt.

So at this point Coenzyme Q10 alone may not help in lowering the lipid levels.
