Vomiting, Nausea, Exacerbated While Lying Down After Boostrix Immunization. Anything To Worry?

Hi, my 11 year old son had Boostrix imunisation yesterday. He was vomiting all night which I understand can be a side effect of this imunisation, however my concern is that it seems to be exacerbated when my son lies down.

He has not been sick again for 4 hours, but feels nausea when prone.

Is this cause for concern?

Regards

Angela.

Hi Angela,

Thank you for your query.

Boostrix does not usually give rise to vomiting. If he is feeling nauseated and has vomited a couple of times and is uncomfortable lying down then a clinical evaluation is required to rule out other problems. You need to ensure that he does not get dehydrated by repeated vomiting. It shall be better to consult your doctor so that he can evaluate your son and guide you accordingly.

I hope I have answered your query to your satisfaction.

Wishing your son an early recovery.
