Was Diagnosed With Sores In Stomach. Taking Topzole. Getting Heartburn. Suggest?
I was diagnosed with 2 big sores in my stomach. The dr put me on topzole for a month, I went for checkup 6 weeks later and he prescribed topzole for 30 days again. he said I must take when necessary, and leave for a few days, then if I get heartburn I must take for 2 or 3 days and leave again. if I skip 1 day, that nite I have heartburn again. Does a ulcer never heal? I have hade heartburn evry day of my life for over 20 years now. Is this all because of the ulcers.

Hi,
First confirm that you are having gastric ulcer.
Consult Gastro-enterologist and get examined.
He may go for endoscopy for proper diagnosis.
Afterwards he will go for long course of Omiprazole group of medicine.
Change you food habit.
Take less but more frequent food.
Avoid fried, chillies andjunk food.
Avoid stress.
Ok and take care.

It will. but we need to give rest for it to heal. that is take tabletsfor right time and maintain your acid secretion level under contro.

No its not only due to ulcer but due to acid secretion, wrong dietary and physical habbits. Take food at right time every day, spread out your food intake for 4-5 times with limited quantity, do regular exercise, plenty of fluid, have dinner min 1 hour before bed. Consult your doctor for examination and management and adhere to him.
