Hello,

Wearing brace may have a local effect of pressure to the muscles around the knee.

But numbness is the nature of nerve injury.

Your brace any be compression on the nerves around the knee and may be causing the numbness.

Readjustment of the brace may help.

If the numbness still persist then you need to consult your doctor.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement Dr. K. Naga Ravi Prasad's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

From the description, I feel that you are applying the brace TOO TIGHTLY that is causing compression of the common peroneal nerve at the level of the knee joint.

This will typically cause tingling and numbness in the outer border of foot and the last 2 toes.

So all your symptoms are caused by tight compression of the brace. Apply it in a bit comfortable position which resolves your symptoms.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
