What Are The Possible Chances Of Being Pregnant For Missing Periods Over A Week?
Hi, I had a course of regesterone prescribed by the doctor since period was very irregular and almost absent since many years because of PCOD. Doctor advised that after having regesterone, I will have regular periods. On the next month after I had my regesterone, I had periods on the 28th day itself and lasted for 5 days. Now, I am already due for the periods this month on 10.02,2014 and I am missing the period. I was trying to conceive in the mean time. So, do you think that it is a positive sign for getting conceived? Please reply me.
Thanks for the query. It seems that you had long standing PCOD and a normal period after stopping regesterone. You are past your period for 4 days.
It is difficult to say if that this is only due to pregnancy and not PCOD, considering that you had almost absent menses for many years and also it is too early to detect pregnancy. Please check if you are having symptoms of pregnancy like nausea, vomiting, frequent urination. If these are there chances are more likely. The best way to know is by doing a urine test 7-10 days after the missed period using the early morning urine sample. So I suggest you get this done.
I understand your concern and wish best of luck for you. Hope I was able to help you. Thanks for using Health Care Magic. I would be happy to answer any further queries. Have a nice day. Dr. Madhuri Bagde Consultant Obstetrician and Gynecologist
