What Are The Side Effects Of Overdose Of Minocycline ?

I took too many minocycline on accident. My pills said 2 daily not 2 at a time and I have been taking 2 at a time. I ve been experiencing terrible headaches, increasing heart rate, sweating, weak body, dizziness, confusion and close to hallusinations. This has been going on for about a week and it won t go away.. What do I do?

I appreciate your concern towards the safety profile of Minocycline.
Age, gender, and the purpose ( like the treatment for which infection)using Minocycline not mentioned.

Usually to treat the bacterial infection it is prescribed as follows:
200 mg once daily for Ist day, thereafter 100 mg twice daily for a period of minimum 14 days.

Apparently you have consumed larger doses of Minocycline resulting in some the adverse effects as you mentioned above.
Reduce the dose and take it as prescribed by the doctor the adverse effects subside by their own.
You are advised to consult your doctor if these adverse effects persist even after one day.
