I have been diagosed with ovarian cyst and it was bleeding for a fortnight. Before this I did not get my periods for two months. So I thought that it may be menopause as I am 48 and a half years old. My gyneac prescribed Regestrone 5mg twice a day for 21 days. I have BP 140/90. What are the side effects?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Nausea, headache, abdominal cramps, dizziness, breast tenderness and spotting are some of the side effects of Regesterone. Side effects differ from person to person. Most of the adverse effects reduce as your body adjusts to the new hormone levels.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Saranya Ramadoss, General & Family Physician
