I am 41 and just had my second routine colonoscopy. No symptoms to be worried about, just that both parents have had colon/colorectal cancer. One deceased/One still living and cancer free for 9 years. My first test was normal 9 years ago (just hemorrhoid). Today the Gastro docs office called to see how I was doing after the test and they told me the results of the biopsy would be ready on Friday. I was not aware that they biopsied so I got nervous. They said the doctor doesn't discuss immediately after tests due to sedation so they follow up with a call to schedule a follow up appt if anything needs to be discussed. Anyhow, the biopsy was not for a polyp but for a "weird, abnormal looking, possible area of scar tissue, on a valve." I forget the name of the valve, but what does that mean??? I can't wait till Friday for the results. Is this possibly cancer, Crohn's ? Never heard of this and no idea what would cause scar tissue since I've never had surgery or injuries of any kind.
