What Can I Do For IBS, Crohn S Disease And Headache?

Hi, I have been tested for IBS and Crohns disease, and tests have come back as normal, however I have been ill for 10 months, really bad belly aches and pains, running to the toilet on a morning, burning smell when I go, I feel sick throughout the day, I get headaches and migraines, and as I ve had it so long constantly I feel run down. Any help would be appreciated, thank you

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Noted your history and understood the concerns. You have not been well for the last 10 months, have stomach pains, urgency for toilet, headaches and migraines as you have mentioned. Suspicion about IBS and Crohn's can be cleared well with the help of clinical evaluation by a Gastroenterologist and getting fully investigated as follows:

Get stool test for 3 days and if anything positive comes up it can be treated specifically as also after full blood and urine work up. Ultrasonography and CT scan of the abdomen. Colonoscopy and biopsy can help for Crohns and any disease like tuberculosis. Upper GI Endoscopy.

All the will lead to a diagnosis which can be specifically treated. If all the tests are normal then this can be IBS or Irritable Bowel Syndrome. Control of stress and anxiety works the best in IBS with or without medications.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. T Chandrakant,
General Surgeon
