What Can I Use To Stop Persistent Itching On My Penis And Scrotum For Weeks, Which Started After Intercourse?
for the last few weeks I have had and itch on the penis and ball area! It is very uncomfortable and sometimes embarrassing because I need to scratch! It all started after have Inter course with my one and only lad! She too complained about irritation in her vagina and bought sone ovualls over the counter that stopped her itching! What can I use to stop my itching! I do not have any sores or visible discoloration of the penis shaft!
Itching in the genital area after intercourse is quite common, maintain hygiene. Have no sex until symptoms settle. Wear cotton loose fitting clothes to avoid moisture buildup. Do not scratch. Take bath daily and keep your private area clean and dry. Apply Clotrimazole or Ketoconazole ointment for 1-2 weeks. You can also take a course of antifungal medication.
In case itching persists for more than 2 weeks despite antifungal cream and your partner keeps getting symptoms too (both of you need treatment). Get clinically examined by a urologist, both of you and get tested for STIs.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr Nupur K., General & Family Physician
