What Can Be Done About Swelling And Bruising On The Cheekbone Of A Child?

I have been called by my daughters child care to come collect her as she had fallen and hit her face on a toy truck. She is 10months old. Her cheekbone is signifficantly swollen and there is a large black bruise. I was wondering if I needed to have this checked over by a doctor immediatley. It looks quite bad. No bleeding though.

thanks for your query, i have gone through your query, the black buise and swelling over the cheek bone could be ecchymosis with inflammatory swelling..this can be due to a fractured cheek bone. consult a oral physician and get radiographs done to rule out any fracture of the bone and teeth...i hope my answer will help you..take care..
