What Causes A Raised Rash On The An Infant S Upper Body?

My 9 month old has a pink/red slightly raised rash on his forehead, sides of neck, tummy and back. I haven t changed anything as far as detergent or body wash/shampoo. He had a low grade fever past 2 days however today he is fine with no fever. He is in good spirits and the rash doesn t seem to bother him. I treated the fever with medicine. He hasn t been interested in eating anything but breast milk the past few days; I m assuming because he wasn t feeling well, so can t say that he has eaten anything different either. His teeth haven t come through yet and are really bothering him. What could this rash be and should I seek medical help?

Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,
Welcome to Hcm,
Problem like this is hard to respond to for any clinician especially when we can't see the rash to comment. Although you made a great attempt at describing the rash. Rash such as this in this age group can range anything from a non specific rash to heat rash to allergic or infective. As your child is otherwise well there is a high possibility of this being rash secondary to heat. Best would be to keep the area moist by applying cetaphil moisturizing cream and nothing else on it. However its always important that the rash is actually seen by some doctor. Hope I was of some help. Take care.
