What Causes A Rash On The Neck,ears And Scalp Of A Child?

My two year old grandson had a rash suddenly appear (about a week ago) around his neck, ears, scalp, and a little bit on his back, arms and legs. It sometimes looks like it is getting better, then all of a sudden flares up again. It is making him itchy. It looks like contact dermatitis to me, but we haven't done anything new or different in regards to his food or detgergents. He has never had a problem with rashes before.

Indeed it may either be a contact dermatitis or some other form of allergy. Please start him on an allergy syrup after consulting your GP. You can also apply Calamine lotion to his body twice a day. If no response or relief in 3-5 days, take him to a specialist.
