What Causes A Red Scaly Rash On The Upper Abdomen Of A Child?

my 2 year old daughter has a red scaley rash on her upper abdomin when she takes a warm bath it becomes more visible and then also then notice it on her bottom it doesnt seem to bother her any I havent noticed her itching at it or anything like that but it has been there for a little over a week now so i am a little worried what it might be? It hasnt spread to anywhere else on her body my mother in law and husband said i shouldnt worry about it unless it gets worse

Hi... I sympathize with the kid and understand your concern. By what you quote I feel that it could be eczema. The trick of the management is keeping the skin moist and never allowing it to be dry. For this oil massage and lotions like Oilatum will help. Regarding cure options - eczema is a sort of allergy...allergies can only be controlled and can never be cured. But usually kids grow out of it...that is as the age progresses.
