General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Small lump on the front side of the neck is commonly due to skin cysts, enlargement of the lymph nodes, swollen salivary glands under the jaw may be caused by infection (bacterial / viral), etc. Serious medical conditions may present with similar symptoms like tumor, abscess, lipoma, symptoms of head / neck cancer, goiter, thyroid nodules, etc. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP / ENT, get CBC, urinalysis, investigations like MRI, USG, fine needle aspiration (FNA), biopsy, etc.

The pathology will be detected and detailed study done so that your treatment can be started at the earliest. In the meantime, take semi solid soft food so that you don't hurt your throat. Stay well hydrated and avoid stressful lifestyle. Stay away from addictions if any. Take adequate sleep and rest.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
