I am 55 years old , female, w 2 fibroids, that are stable ('ve had them for a few years now, but with the menopause they do not grow any more). I have been experiencing abdominal discomfort for a few months now. It would go away and come back as a dull pressure in the lower abdomen. My doctor performed GYN test, and then vag. ultra sound. All was normal, fibroids stable. The discomfort persisted and gradually became a dull pain, almost constant. My doctor recommended a CT scan of my abdomen, which returned normal. I am concerned because it now does not go away, and is increasing gradually. He said that it could be due to a weakened intestinal support that comes with the age, and since the CT scan was normal, the only test that remains to be done is colonoscopy. There is a long wait for that procedure.- another few months. But my pain increases form initially level 1 ( ot of 10), to level 2, and now to level 3. I feel that it can not be due to a weak support. It is a now more distinctive pain, like something is inflamed.
I am concerned because something is definitely not right. The pain can not be ignored any longer.
