Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes Acid Reflux With Diarrhea Or Vomiting?
Since starting work at a fast food restaurant I have been sick to my stomach. This has been for about six weeks. Somedays I can hold food down and then others I cannot. I have not eaten very much in the last two days and everything that I have eaten, including crackers, has either caused me diarrhea or vomitting. The indigestion is horrible as well. I thought this was a bug, but I am beginning to wonder. I can keep sprite or 7up down.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history and understood your concerns. Working at fast food restaurant and thus getting started with stomach upset indicate that you have developed some sort of intestinal infection or intolerance to something that is difficult to control by the body's own immunity system. Hence I would advise you the following: Get the stool and blood tests done. If there is an evidence of an infection, get a course of an antibiotic active against intestinal infection, metronidazole and a probiotic. This should solve your problems. Furthermore identify the foods and beverages that is causing the problems and stop these altogether. Take only homemade food and use boiled and cooled water.
