Hi,I am Dr. Alexander H. Sheppe (Psychiatrist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I'm pretty sure I have problems with panic/anxiety..had an attack out of the blue almost two weeks ago..still feeling tight chest with a coldness inside...feel like i need my inhaler which is not normal unless i have chest congestion. Took half a XANAX the other night and felt complete relief from all the symptoms I have had for nearly two weeks. I can almost feel an attack coming on and I deep breathe to ward it off..seems to work..don't have insurance until Jan 2012 so I'm hoping I can manage until then. I only have one Xanax left ( Friend let me try it). I am a teacher and mom of 3...my husband works nights and I'm the one in charge of it all with the kids.
In case of panic attack, you can try xanax on sos basis. If you are getting repeat attacks, then try antidepressant like paroxetine. That would help to control the attacks. You can also try some relaxation exercise like JPMR or deep breathing exercise. Better to consult a psychiatrist for proper management. In case, you need further help, you can ask.
Thanks
