What Causes Blister Like Sores On The Mouth?

Hello I am 26 years old and am currently having tons of small like blisters filled with clear fluid that are wheeping on each corner of my mouth. They are crusting over with a honey like crust and itch like crazy. I went to the doctors the first time and got misdiagnosed with HPV. Then i went to the doctors a second time and they said i had Angular Chilitis they gave me some anti-fungal medications to help clear it up but when i woke up in the morning my top lip was filled with little blisters and feels ver swollen and the sides are not any better in fact worse. Today i went to the doctors and they told me they believe that it is Impetigo and prescribed me bactrim DS and bactroban...but i am scared that it is not correctly diagnosed and i will have to live with these ugly sores on my mouth even longer. My top lip is still feeling very swollen.

Hi..
Welcome to HEALTHCARE MAGIC..

I have gone through your query and can understand your concern...

As per your complain and presentation of symptoms it seems that you are suffering from a HERPES VIRUS 1 infection causing cold sores and the symptoms of fluid filled blisters appearing is clusters is a hallmark sign of herpes infection.

Although it is a self limiting infection and the blisters resolve in a period of approximately 2 weeks time..
But there can be repeated recurrences..
You should consult an Infectious Medicine Specialist and he can do a clinical examination and necessary laboratory investigation like Viral culture, antigen-antibody reaction, polymerase chain reaction etc for confirmation..

If Herpes is confirmed you will be advised oral and topical anti-viral medications like Acyclovir , Valacyclovir etc to prevent recurrent infection..

Hope this information helps..

Thanks and regards..
