What Causes Brownish Discharge And Foul Smell During Periods?

i am experiencing abnormal periods ...two this month with a brownish discharge that started after the"second" period of this month. there is no itching or burning but it's foul smelling. i have a hx of std's so as an adult i take use of condoms seriously. i also have fibroids which I've had surgeries...two surgeries to remove. this new fibroid has attached itself to my uterus and has its own blood supply. could this be the reason for the brownish discharge? I'm not on any medications but i take echinecia and goldenseal and folic acid supplements daily. could the vitamins be the cause?

Hi,
Fibroids are known to cause irregular bleeding.Vitamins can not cause it.
The recent fibroid you have may be the cause of second bleeding this month. The bleeding lying in vagina ,gets foul smell. If you are using tampons ,that may be the cause of retension. Satitary towels are better option.
The presence of blood in vagina over along time result in vaginal infection ,leading to foul smell.
Treatment of infection as well as the fibroid is the complete treatment,in your case.
