What Causes Bruise Like Small Lump On Upper Back?

We just noticed a soft lump, almost bruiselike, on my 6 week old baby's upper back near her spine and the base of her neck. It seems to be painless as she shows no signs of pain when it is pressed and she acts normally otherwise as well. It was suggested by someone that it could be a pocket of spinal fluid. We have a pediatrician appointment in two days. Should we wait for her appointment or have her seen immediately?

hi without a photograph it would be very difficult for me to give an opinion. But when it is not compressible and not painless it could just be an eczema which is starting also.As the baby is comfortable you need not rush to the emergency room.
