What Causes Burning Sensation During Urination When Suffering From Urethritis?

I have been suffering from urethritis for about 5 years. Antibiotics did not resolve it. It is causing serious sleep deprivation on occasions as I need to urinate maybe 6 times during the night. I suspect that eating chilli may have been a cause, so I will stop eating chilli. Recently I was prescribed dexamphetamine for ADD, and it seems to me that this exacerbates the problem. If I reduce the dose, the urethritis is not so severe. Is this coincidental, or can this medication irritate the urethra ? I have always experienced a burning sensation when I need to urinate, but in recent years this has begun happening on a much faster cycle ( I have been tested for STI, results were negative).

Your main problem is chronic urethritis which is resistant to treatment.Generally it happens with ecoli infection. Repeated urine examination with culture and sensitivity to be done.Prostate might have been affected with prostitis. It can be confirmed by examining prostatic message fluid. New method of culture can identify organism by electro phoresis without growing organism.
