What Causes Chest Pain While On Thyroxine?

I was diagnosed with Hypothriod ( TSH level 9) and medication started with 2 mcg Thyroxine. in 4 months TSH dropped to 3 and then to 2. i would feel chest pain occassionally. after five months i again tested TSH it was 0,1. my doc asked to stop medicine and started INDRAL10 Neurokind plus for 1 month.what is happening to me , i have higher hearth beats in nights however chest pain has stopped.

Hi,
You seem to be overtly sensitive to thyroxine. what about T3 and T4 ? It is not recommended to start treatment based on only TSH as T3 and T4 can be higher in which case you are at the opposite end of the diagnosis (pituitary hyperthyroidism).
However, the fact that your TSH dropped on RX indicates that you have hypothyroidism. You may need higher doses of Inderal for fast symptom control as thyroxine effect may last upto 2 weeks after stopping the drug.
