What Causes Constipation In A 22 Month Old?

My granddaughter is 22mo and gets extremely constipated. She has not had a bowel movement in 2 days which is not uncommon, but she has also had a dose of Miralax 2 days too. She was laboring trying to go today and would start whimpering and was obviously distressed over it. She will drink prune juice, but I m not sure what else she will eat that will give her more fiber.

Hi,
Thank you for asking question on health care magic.
Constipation is some times familial.
High residue and fiber containing diet and drinking plenty of water will relieve constipation.
Leafy vegetables and juicy fruits help free passage of stools.
Daily use of potty at a particular time irrespective of the fact whether there is urge or not.
Lactulose syrup daily may help improving the situation.
Hope this answer will serve your purpose
Please feel free to ask any more queries if required
