What Causes Dent In The Forehead?

our 11 month old had fallen and hit her head on the coffee table it bumped up immediately and was black. I iced it right away and watched her closely for days...she was fine (no crying, eyes looked good, behavior normal) the bump and bruise stayed for a good week and a half and there is still a light bruise but my concern is that now when she raises her eyebrows or scrunches up her forehead there is a dent....should I take her in!! What is this dent?

Hi,

Thanks for your question.

The dent is likely some fat necrosis in the area of the injury. The fat under the skin in this area liquifies.

It will improve with time although may take some months to completely disappear.

I hope this answers your question.

Best wishes
